2017 RTRS CHAMPIONS ANNOUNCED!
The Montour Area Recreation Commission is excited to announce the final results of the 2017 River Towns Race Series!
After a seven race series in which 862 racers (456 men and 406 women) competed, a returning champion and a relative newcomer have emerged victorious! Congratulations to Steve Templin of Muncy, PA – our overall and male champion – and Kelly Harris of Lewisburg, PA – our female champion!
Steve turned in solid performances at six of this year’s events, including wins at the Humdinger, Scale the Trail 4 Kids and Old Forge Brewing Company Beer Run 5k. He came in close seconds at both the River Towns Half-Marathon and the Chilli Challenge.
Kelly came on strong this season, turning in wins at the Dinger-Plus and Montour 24 12-Hour Night race, as well as a close second at the River Towns Half-Marathon.

2016 RTRS CHAMPIONS ANNOUNCED!
The Montour Area Recreation Commission is excited to announce the final results of the 2016 River Towns Race Series!
After an eleven race series in which 1,357 racers (659 women and 698 men) competed, two long-time River Towns Race Series racers have come out on top! Congratulations to Valerie Pratt, 55, of Carbondale, PA, our overall champion / female champion and Steve Templin, 43, of Muncy, PA, our overall male champion.
Valerie raced in ten of this year’s eleven races, missing only the Hopewell Challenge Mountain Bike Race. Valerie racked up points in everything from Cyclocross racing to long-distance trail runs, proving herself an all-around force to be reckoned with.
Steve raced in seven of this year’s races, including first-place finishes at the River Towns Half-Marathon, Old Forge Beer Run 5k, Montour Preserve Summer Heat Trail Run 30k and Chilli Challenge individual! Steve too was a force to be reckoned with this season.

All those who raced with us at any of our 2016 River Towns Race Series races are encouraged to mark their calendars now for our 2016 RTRS Awards Ceremony / 2017 Season Kick-off Event, to be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 12:00pm at the Montour Preserve’s Environmental Education Center. More details on the event and the pre-luncheon fun run on the Preserve’ s trails will be announced as we get closer to the date.

2015 RIVER TOWNS RACE SERIES CHAMPIONS ANNOUNCED!
The Montour Area Recreation Commission (MARC) is excited to announce the final points standings for the 2015 River Towns Race Series! After a seven race season in which a total of 1,140 racers (659 women and 481 men) competed, Richard Wilkinson, 59, of Tioga, PA reigns supreme! Richard competed in six of this year’s races, including the Double-Dinger, River Towns Marathon, Worlds End 50k, Robbins Run 10k, Old Forge Brewing Company 5k and the 24-hour version of the Montour 24 Endurance Runs. In all, Richard earned a combined 448.75 points, earning the titles of overall series champion and overall men’s champion. Our 2015 women’s champion is Tracy Wright, 40, of Waverly, NY. Tracy earned a combined total of 251.25 points, competing in the Humdinger, River Towns Half Marathon and the Worlds End 50k. Congratulations to Richard, Tracy and all of our 2015 River Towns Race Series competitors.
Please mark your calendars now for Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 12:00pm for the 2015 River Towns Race Series Awards Luncheon/2016 Series Kickoff Event. This year’s event will be held at the Montour Preserve Environmental Education Center, located at 700 Preserve Rd, Danville, PA 17821. All racers who competed with us in 2015 are invited to join us at no charge for refreshments, fellowship and fun as we honor our 2015 series and age category champions. We’ll also unveil the details of the 2016 River Towns Race Series, including three new races and the return of a local favorite. Join us in the parking lot at 10:30am for a free fun run on the Preserve’s trails. Admission is free for our 2015 racers. All others are welcome to join us for just $10. AND YOUR 2014 RIVER TOWNS RACE SERIES CHAMPIONS ARE………..
Congratulations to Jennifer Kline of Bloomsburg, PA and Dennis Knowlton of Clifford, PA for ruling the 2014 River Towns Race Series! Jennifer is our overall and women’s champion with a combined 637.00 points; Dennis is our men’s champion with a combined 452.50 points.
Both Jennifer and Dennis turned in extraordinary performances at September’s River Towns Cycling Classic and sealed the deal at October’s Chilli Challenge. Jennifer raced with us at every race this season, doing it all from the Robbins Run 10k to 24 hours of running at the Montour 24. Both Jennifer and Dennis did it all with incredible determination, solid training and, importantly, grace and great sportsmanship. It’s our great pleasure to present Jennifer and Dennis as our 2014 RTRS champions.
The 2014 RTRS saw 1,223 men and women from 22 states, Canada and England (!) come to Montour County, PA to race with us. We had racers aged 4 to 81 racing with us, having a great time with friends and family while also supporting parks, trails and outdoor recreation in Montour County.

Congratulations to our overall 2013 River Towns Race Series champions Linda Pegg of Danville, PA and Zach Lyons of South Williamsport, PA for great finishes to a great season! Linda and Zach both led the point standings for much of the season and sealed their victories with solid performances at the Pumpkin Palooza Pandemonium. Both Linda and Zach have been racing with us for years and we’re thrilled to see them both come out on top for the first time ever.
2013 prizes and awards will be distributed at our annual awards ceremony and season kickoff event on January 25, 2014 from 12:00pm – 2:00pm at the PPL Montour Preserve Visitors’ Center.
